Q: What's the difference between the Restoration Department and the Custom Shop? A: The two are just names to differentiate each service. Both Restoration and Custom shop services are conducted under one roof at the Scotty Cameron Putter Studio. Restoration involves refinishing a putter back to its original condition and the Custom Shop can take a putter and add lines, dots, a combination of both, initials, and several other custom combinations. Scotty and/or his staff of expertly trained technicians complete the work here at the Putter Studio.
Q: How much do these services cost? A: We have several different options as far as services are concerned. The best thing to do is to consult the price list page for a complete listing of fees.
Q: What is the minimum dollar amount I must spend in the Custom Shop? A: We have set a minimum purchase requirement of $45.00 to send in your putter for custom work. We have many combinations of services that will allow you to reach the minimum.
Q: How do the Scotty Cameron Putter Studio services differ from those of Titleist? A: The Studio and Titleist both offer first-rate services and workmanship. The Studio is simply an extension of the services offered to the top players in the world. Unlike Titleist, The Studio can add initials, sightlines, dots, loft and lie adjustments, as well as full restoration services with new old stock parts.
Q: Is all the work done at the Studio? A: Yes. Scotty and staff at the Studio will complete all of the Custom Shop services.
Q: Do I have my choice of where to have my initials stamped? A: We will be stamping all initials on the toe except for certain mallet type putters where the initials will instead be placed on the back or on the sole.
Q: How many initials can I get? A: You can get up to four (4) consisting of any combination of numbers or letters.
Q: Can I specify where I want additional sight lines? A: Scotty has determined, based on player feedback, the best and most functional places for sightlines. If you have other requirements, other that what you see on the site, email us or let us know your request in the notes section.
Q: I want to get multiple sightdots, can I do that? A: Although we are a custom shop we still need to maintain the integrity of Scotty Cameron putters. Scotty has thought about all possible sightdot and sightline combinations and believes these to be the best choices for both.
Q: Can I get an alternate finish? A: We will be offering one alternate finish, which will be Pro-Platinum. We feel that this is a good, low maintenance alternative for someone looking for a glare resistant finish that does not need to be oiled. Note: In changing the finish of the TEi3 model putters to Pro Platinum the entire face of the putter is plated to the Pro Platinum finish. This is how it was originally done for the "Tour Only" models and is Scotty's preferred choice in both appearance and performance.
Q: Can I get the same stampings as the Tour stamps? A: Stamps such as the circle T will always be for the Tour only. However, Scotty designed a Custom Shop stamp so you can be assured all work was done right here at the Studio.
Q: Can I get additional stamps on my Tour putter? A: Unfortunately, Scotty designs his Tour putters specifically per a players request so he does not want to go back and revisit what is already a custom design.
Q: Can I specify where I want additional sight lines? A: Scotty has determined, based on player feedback where the best and most functional place for sightlines to be. We will have a few options, but they are what Scotty determines the best locations to be.
Q: What is the Custom Shop stamp? A: The Custom Shop stamp signifies that the modifications on the putter were done at the Scotty Cameron Putter Studio.
Q: Will you add weight to my Futura? A: We will be able to add up to 20 grams to your Futura by changing the weight bar in the back.
Q: Can I add weight to my Red X? A: Yes, we will be able to add weight to all 34 and 35 inch Red X putters. Weight will be added in 10-gram increments.
Q: Why can you only change length 1/2 inch? A: We can only add or subtract 1/2 inch because any additional length changes will significantly affect the swing weight and balance of your putter.
Q: Can I request custom paint fill? A: It is our goal to maintain the integrity of the putter by offering original color schemes that matched the era of the submitted putter.
Q: What is the turnaround time for having my putter worked on? A: That depends on the work being done. Turnaround time can range to just a couple days in house for initials or sight lines, all the way to 45 days or more for a complete restoration.
Q: What if my putter is lost in transit? A: We encourage players to insure their putters for an adequate sum and require it upon return. We will notify owners when we receive and ship their putters and provide tracking information for the return trip. Plain boxes are used to make the recognition of contents less likely.
Q: Can I track my putter once it has left the Studio? A: Yes, we will e-mail a FedEx tracking number to you once the putter has shipped. You can then enter the number at FedExTracking.com or click on the tracking link provided and follow the route of your package from our door to your own.
Q: If my putter is lost in transit, can it be replaced? A: No. Producing duplicates would compromise the value of original designs. We encourage owners to insure their putters for the full value and to ship their putters using a traceable courier, but can not offer a replacement putter in that many putters are produced in limited runs. Digital photos and an appraisal may help recover funds from the carrier insuring your putter.
Q: What is the address of the Putter Studio? A: Scotty Cameron Services Department 1707 La Costa Meadows Drive. San Marcos, CA 92078
**IMPORTANT*** Putters MUST be shipped. No walk-ins will be accepted for any reason.
Q: Do I have to send my putter in to receive a new grip or headcover? A: Yes, Scotty's Custom Shop was established to service your Cameron putter. The Studio Store was established to sell Cameron Accessories. The only way to acquire shafts, grips or headcovers through Scotty's Custom Shop is to submit your putter for service.
